  • Billings welcomed its first baby of 2026 when Mariah Laforge and Caleb Mason delivered Jer'Aki Mason Laforge at 10:43 a.m. at St. Vincent Regional Hospital + he joins his older brother Nathaniel.  Billings Gazette
  • The first baby of the year in Billings, Jer’Aki Mason LaForge, was born Thursday morning at St. Vincent Regional Hospital at 10:43 a.m. His parents, Mariah LaForge and Caleb Mason, welcomed him four weeks early—he is their second child.  KTVQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Will James Middle School teacher Carla Ljunggren was recognized by the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools for the One Class at a Time program; local sponsors (Western Security Bank, City Brew Coffee) awarded her a $500 grant and a $150 gift card for her dedication to engaging students with history.  KTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New federal rules went into effect Jan. 1, requiring that meat in grocery stores be labeled 'Product of USA' only if the animal is born, raised, slaughtered and processed in the US (proof of full domestic production is required). The change aims to clear up confusion about meat origins.  KTVQ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Brittany Gage, a Billings dietitian, says small changes can help make the new year healthier—she advises focusing on one meal at a time and adding nutritious options while cautioning against quick fixes.  KULR8
