  • Poly Food Basket, a locally owned neighborhood grocer at 2648 Poly Dr, will soon close, ending an era of family-run service that offered grocery essentials and local goods to the community.  Billings Gazette
  • Poly Food Basket, a neighborhood grocer at 2648 Poly Dr. since 1953, will close at the end of January. Owner Scott D’Ambrosia said the store will liquidate its remaining inventory + end its operation as scheduled.  KTVQ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Montana-raised folk band TopHouse has achieved national success with 1.2 million Spotify listeners and will begin a nationwide tour at the end of February, with a show in Helena on Saturday, July 11. The band, which formed in Missoula in 2015, continues to honor its Montana roots.  KULR8
  • Construction continues on a new Little Bighorn visitor center ahead of the 150th anniversary of the 1876 battle, but officials say it remains uncertain if the facility will be finished in time. Updates are expected as work progresses.  Billings Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Montana have dropped 3.4¢ per gallon over the past week to $2.75 (Jan. 5), a decrease of 19.2¢ from a month ago and 2¢ lower than last year. The modest decline puts Montana prices nearly in line with the national average of $2.74.  KTVQ

  • BPS is seeking donations through the state tax credit program to support career opportunities and enhance education. Last year, SD2 spent $279,000 to expand trades programs, support gifted students, and boost elementary robotics and STEM learning.  Billings Gazette
