  • Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter moved into a temporary space after smoke forced it out of its former building in September — the shelter is now raising funds to secure a future home.  Billings Gazette

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Crews are repairing a fiber-optic line near a railroad track in Cody, Wyo, which has disrupted streaming feeds for Montana Television Network stations (including KTVQ, KPAX, KXLF and KRTV). Local news remains available over the air and on cable, though no repair timeline has been set.  KTVQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Billings school board is asking for community feedback on three high school bond options that would fund repairs, academic upgrades, and athletics improvements. The proposals range from $88 million to $242 million with varied tax impacts for a $300,000 home + to appear on the ballot in 2027.  KTVQ

HEALTH NEWS

  • The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services wants to cut the number of universally recommended vaccines for children from 17 to 11, a move that some Billings health experts oppose as sending mixed messages. Local parents plan to follow doctors' advice while the proposal is reviewed.  KTVQ

  • Billings mother Michelle Vralsted felt proud after watching her two MSU Bobcat sons help win the FCS championship 35-34 against Illinois State Monday night. She recalled their journey from flag football to overcoming injuries, noting every moment helped shape their bond and character.  KTVQ
