Volunteers helped Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter move from its temporary space to a new building at 5056 Jellison Road in south Billings on Saturday morning; the larger space, nearly 9,000 sqft compared to 3,000 sqft before, will allow full veterinary care under one roof.

The Governor's Office of Community Service is asking community members to nominate outstanding volunteers for the 2026 Serve Montana Awards until March 31.

Nominees will be notified in May and honored at a ceremony in June.
