- ➤ Saturday morning, volunteers raised walls for Habitat for Humanity’s 99th home in the Heights as a celebration of building and belonging. Denise James, soon living in her new single-level home (part of a planned 21-home subdivision), celebrated with friends as the nonprofit continues its mission for safe, affordable housing. KTVQ
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and Crow Tribe Fish and Game captured 99 elk on the Crow Reservation south of Billings in late January to test for brucellosis as part of a joint effort with DOL (Department of Livestock). All elk tested negative and 30 were fitted with GPS collars for one-year tracking. KULR8

- ➤ Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen (with six other state attorneys) has urged the U.S. Justice Department to review the planned merger of Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern, warning that reduced competition may raise shipping costs and hurt local farming and manufacturing. KULR8

- ➤ Columbus resident Gerry Campbell (74) received free hearing aids on Friday, Feb. 13 at AudiologyHQ through the Gift of Hearing program. His improved hearing now lets him enjoy clear conversations with family, including hearing his young grandchild speak. KULR8
