COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Hannah House has expanded with the addition of two new houses on campus and a new daycare service for residents in Billings, boosting capacity + support for women in recovery. Billings Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Billings City Council is recommending that Art House Billings buy the historic Babcock Theater for $1 after its roof collapsed last spring. The Fire Department is set to begin contract talks as January structure fires increased to 17 from 7 last year. KTVQ
- ➤ City engineers found 75% of drivers speeding at the South 36th and Monad intersection, qualifying it for a traffic calming program. They plan to install curb extenders in a few months and consider a mini roundabout if funding and other projects allow. KTVQ
- ➤ Billings is moving ahead with a $5 million biking and walking path connecting the West End to the Heights after the City Council endorsed the Stagecoach Rise route. Federally funded + a $100,000 donation from Billings TrailNet, bids open later this year with construction set for 2027. KTVQ

- ➤ The Montana VA Health Care System began registering veterans for the 2026 Golden Age Games on Feb. 18 at 8:00 a.m. for the Visually Impaired and Wheelchair Divisions; the games will feature over 20 sports events for local veterans. KULR8
- ➤ Plenty Coups High School boys basketball team entered district playoffs on Wednesday in Laurel after head coach Posey Whiteman III was suspended for misconduct allegations and assistant coach Kobe Gutierrez resigned to support the players—JV coach Garren Goes Ahead was named head coach 10 minutes before the game. - ➤ Billings West wrestler Makael Aguayo will try to earn his fourth individual state title at the tournament this week and help his school capture a fourth straight team crown. The 150-pound athlete holds a record 154 wins and a 43-0 season record plus counts 19 pins and 120 takedowns. KTVQ
