EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Education savings accounts are available for existing families statewide until the school year ends; about 50 families have been reimbursed as funds meant for public schools are redirected. The program aims to ease education expenses by reallocating existing funds. Billings Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Yellowstone National Park reported that its 66-foot Echinus Geyser erupted regularly in February with 20-30 foot bursts after more than five years of rest and has now shown temperature spikes (no actual eruptions yet), with officials expecting activity to taper off before summer. KTVQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Gianforte declared this week as Invest in Veterans Week to honor veteran-owned businesses statewide and released a map of 13 companies in industries including restaurants, professional services, and retail + he urges Montanans to support businesses like Classy and Sassy Coffee in Billings and Freedom Express Car Wash in Belgrade. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Local mother Tiffini Gallant of Laurel battles polycystic kidney disease; her right kidney has enlarged so she is on the transplant list and seeking a living donor (with her son also affected). She began fighting the illness at 12 and hopes her story reaches someone in time. KULR8
- ➤ A Montana native at MSU Billings won two awards for her work fighting staph infections that can cause skin problems. The lab trains students to study bacteria at the DNA, RNA, and protein levels. KTVQ

- ➤ Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears won the Frontier Conference tournament with a 79-77 overtime victory over MSU Northern — marking their 18th consecutive win and first title since 2014 as Royce Robinson scored 29 points, and they will host tournament games on March 13 and 14. KTVQ
- ➤ Rocky Mountain College beat MSU-Northern 79+77 in overtime at Butte Civic Center on Monday, March 2 to win its first Frontier tournament title since 2014. The 18th straight win improved the Bears’ record to 28+3 and earned them NAIA championship hosting on March 13 and 14. KTVQ
