- ➤ Billings hosts three local events this weekend at 5056 Jellison Rd. and NOVA Center: the YVAS Open House offering free pet microchipping (today noon to 3 p.m.) and a Community Cat-urday TNR clinic (8 to 11 a.m.); the Write on Time Play Festival started Friday and will run through Sunday with youth theater performances. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Billings and Fire Department responded on Thursday to calls about an oily sheen in drains along King Avenue East and Yegen Ditch near the downtown post office. Officials said the runoff and sewer cleaning did not threaten the Yellowstone River. KTVQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Gianforte and U.S. Forest Service officials announced two shared forest management areas covering about 414,000 acres in national forests to reduce wildfire risk and secure timber supplies. The first project – Blacktail Powerline – will start this year to thin forests along a powerline corridor. KTVQ

- ➤ Some Montana travelers face delays and fees as tensions in the Middle East affect flights; one friend is stranded after a Dubai layover and a Livingston resident canceled a March 27 flight (incurring a $360 fee).
