  • Billings City Council presents the Public Safety & Community Resource Series on shelter systems and access in Yellowstone County, scheduled for Apr. 23 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Billings Public Library Community Room.  City of Billings

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Downtown Billings will soon see a mix of new businesses — including an axe throwing venue, La Morenita, Blush Boutique and dining spots — preparing to open in 2026. Locals can expect increased variety and convenient options as these establishments debut.  Billings Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Montanans face rising fuel costs as a conflict in the Middle East shuts down a key oil route. In Montana, diesel prices rose from $4.15 to $4.45 with Billings at about $4.59 per gallon, and experts say higher fuel costs may raise consumer prices & airfares in the coming months.  KTVQ
  • Trent Stoltz, a local farmer, rancher and trucker (from Pompey’s Pillar) rushed to fill his fuel tanks as Montana gas prices jumped from $2.74 to $3.49 per gallon in the past month, raising operating costs by 35% for local ag producers, according to Walter Schweitzer from the Montana Farmers Union.  KULR8

EDUCATION NEWS

  • McKinley Elementary teacher Mrs. Hraban was honored today through the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools One Class at a Time program — backed by Western Security Bank and City Brew Coffee. She received a $500 grant and a $150 gift card for her dedication over seven years.  KTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will restrict access to the boat ramp at Grey Bear Fishing Access Site (west of Big timber on the Yellowstone River) from March 20 to 27 for construction that adds a parking area and trail; work wraps by April 30 while the campground stays open.  KULR8
  • 350 Montana has raised concerns — if the Public Service Commission approves the NorthWestern Energy and Black Hills Energy merger, Montana ratepayers could face higher electricity bills. Jim Parker and Monica Tranel urged more transparency in the decision-making process.  KTVQ
