- ➤ The USDA canceled part of the Emergency Food Assistance Program that provided CCC funds, leading to the loss of (300,000 pounds worth over $400k) of food for more than 170 local food banks and pantries. - ➤ Helena Attorney General Austin Knudsen warns that, after 23andMe filed for bankruptcy (announced March 23rd), residents should protect their genetic data following Montana law (which requires explicit consent for data use). Montanans can remove their genetic information and revoke consent by signing into their accounts and selecting the deletion option on the 23andMe website. KULR8
- ➤ The Montana Senate debated three House bills on Friday that would change wolf management by proposing unlimited hunting if over 550 wolves are counted—featuring an exemption near Yellowstone—and extending the hunting season into spring when wolves den, as well as authorizing new management techniques with thermal imaging scopes. All three bills passed second reading and now await a third reading before returning to the House for further review. KTVQ
