- ➤ The Montana Department of Transportation has committed $1 billion over the next five years to repair or replace 200 bridges as part of an effort to address aging infrastructure. Construction continues on a $6 million project on three key bridges — repairs on the Blue Creek bridge finished last year while rehabilitation at the North Avenue Canal bridge in Huntley and another in Joliet is underway. - ➤ House Bill 848, which would have moved $2 million from the railroad car tax to the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority, failed 23—27 on its second reading in the Montana Senate on Wednesday.
