  • Founders Brian and Gala announced that Rockets Gourmet Wraps and Sodas in downtown Billings is for sale at 2809 First Ave. N after 27 years in business — the restaurant will remain open during the transition.  KTVQ
  • Crispy Cones opened its first Montana location Thursday night at Shiloh Crossing near the AMC Theater, offering a unique 300-year-old European recipe for gourmet soft serve in Billings.  KTVQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Billings high school seniors are playing a water-gun game called Senior Assassin as a fun end-of-year event, with their principal setting strict safety rules. While similar games nationwide have led to injuries, Billings students use bright water guns — clear boundaries keep the game safe.  KTVQ
  • Today the Wise Wonders Science-and-Discovery Museum opened a mini clinic exhibit, sponsored by Intermountain Health, where children can explore fake X-rays, measure their height, test their eyesight and view petri-dishes under a microscope as part of the new Mini-Magic City.  KTVQ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Billings neighbors have complained that wind from the regional landfill blows trash onto nearby streets — Hillcrest and Stratton Roads — causing large litter areas. City officials plan to test wind screens and cleaning methods, including a cleanup with nonprofit Bright n’ Beautiful on Saturday, Apr. 25.  KTVQ

  • The U.S. Army named its new Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft the MV-75 Cheyenne II during the Army Aviation Association conference, honoring the Northern Cheyenne Tribe (a nod to local heritage) from southeastern Montana and linking the aircraft’s speed and range to the tribe’s resilient legacy.  KULR8

  • The South Hills Commons housing project broke ground on Billings South Side as construction began on 35 attainable workforce housing units off King Avenue East with funding from the Montana Community Reinvestment Plan.  Billings Gazette
