Billings Family Service is hosting its second annual PB & J drive to collect bread, peanut butter & jelly for its food bank.
Donors can drop off items at Billings Family Service, Bretz RV & Marine, St. John’s United and Franz Bakery Outlet, and the drive ends April 30.
🎭 Culture
Mayor Bill Cole and Anne Cole hosted the fourth Mayor's World Languages Dinner at the newly renovated Billings Hotel and Convention Center, where more than 60 languages were spoken by residents from local tribal nations and international communities.
The sold-out event featured a performance by the dance troupe En Fuego and a Parade of Traditional Dress, all organized to celebrate cultural diversity (without any political agenda) and supported by local sponsors, volunteers, and MSU Billings International Studies Program (which fosters regional cultural exchange).
🏛️ Government
A House bill in Billings would let daycare and preschool workers access the Best Beginnings Scholarship to help lower childcare costs, and Little Seeds Early Childhood Center supports the proposal as low wages and staff turnover have put extra pressure on the workforce.
Representative Jonathan Karlen said the bill passed in the House but was tabled in committee and he remains hopeful it will pass before the legislative session ends + he believes broader support from educators and childcare providers will help ease the staffing shortage.
