- ➤ An analysis from Lending Tree highlighted that Montana relies on 92% of its imports from Canada (making it the most affected state by any tariff changes on Canadian goods such as lumber). The study also showed that Washington, Idaho, and Oregon depend on Canadian imports at lower rates, which means any policy shifts may have wide impacts in the northwest. KULR8

- ➤ Montana’s USDA Farm Service Agency offers direct and guaranteed loans to new farmers and ranchers who are unable to get commercial credit. The agency lent more than $37 million last year and Acting State Executive Director Lance Wasson said the loans help cover farm purchases, equipment, and day-to-day costs — eligibility requires fewer than 10 years of experience and limits on farm ownership.
