EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Billings Public Schools plans to build a bus barn on a 40-acre site near 48th Street West and Central Avenue to lower contract costs by boosting competition. The 15-acre facility is expected to be complete in 2028 or later and may eventually free up space for a future high school. KTVQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana National Guard and Billings Fire Department are partnering to speed up search and rescue efforts in Eastern Montana using specialized hoist maneuvers to reach patients in remote areas. Helicopters stationed in Billings and a new facility (planned for summer or fall) will improve emergency response times. KTVQ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ DEA officials warned on April 29 during National Fentanyl Awareness Day that fentanyl, found as pills, powder and mixed with other drugs, is increasingly accessible in Montana — officials reported over 24,000 pills seized in 2025 with nearly 175 overdose deaths in both 2024 and 2025, urging parents to monitor online orders.
