- ➤ Following a mid-air collision at an Idaho air show, organizers at The Yellowstone International Air Show in Billings are strengthening safety protocols through regular training and simulation exercises (no one was hurt). The event runs August 22-23 with tickets selling fast. KULR8
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A senior at Billings Senior High spent nearly 18 months securing a wheelchair-accessible van so special education students can join school outings. Donations helped him purchase the van from Salt Lake City, and it will serve about a dozen students. KTVQ
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana State Parks welcomed 3.38 million visitors in 2025, a nearly 5 percent increase from 2024, with Giant Springs drawing 645,978 people (the busiest of several popular parks) and most bookings coming from Montana plus neighboring states. KULR8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After federal approval, Governor Greg Gianforte announced that SNAP benefits will not cover soft drinks, candy, energy drinks (and some desserts) starting immediately to encourage healthier choices in the community. Milk, 100% fruit juice and other nutrient-dense foods remain eligible under the new policy. KULR8
- ➤ On Tuesday, Montana lawmakers met in Helena to consider a proposal to license AI used in medical care. Experts stressed patient data safety and said current legal systems must adapt for the expanding use of technology. KULR8
