  • Mike Anderson, president of the Muscle Car Club of Billings, is reviving the club's Friday night meet and eat event at Hardee's parking lot on the West End to help the local car community feel safe after a recent shooting. His son Joey is helping organize the event so car lovers can gather and share their passion for muscle cars.  KTVQ
  • Billings held its first Memorial Day parade and unveiled an interactive veterans memorial that honors 49 Montana soldiers killed in combat since the Vietnam War. The project took four years and nearly $500,000 in funds to build and includes a kiosk where visitors can view each soldier's digital biography—officially turned over to the city at a ceremony attended by local leaders and veterans.  KTVQ
  • Billings Rotary Club held its inaugural Memorial Day parade where parade veterans, sponsors and participants received a free ticket to the Billings Mustangs game—gifted by the team for the May 24 baseball game.  Billings Gazette
  • On Saturday—during Memorial Day weekend—the drive saw hundreds of horses march five miles from Gardiner to Jardine Rodeo Grounds to raise funds for custom track chairs for disabled veterans and first-responders; the event began at 2:00 p.m. with chairs costing up to $2,500.  KTVQ

  • Treasures Out West, a new western transportation museum at 110 South Main Street in Joliet, opened Friday and features a replica wagon wheel along with other antiques from owner Dave Engel's personal collection – the museum is open all weekend with a gift shop offering local handmade items and Wilcoxson's Ice Cream.  KTVQ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Beartooth Highway reopened today after a delay from snow drift cleanup — visitors from near and far enjoyed scenic views and wildlife along the route — the highway will remain open until mid-October.  KULR8
