- ➤ Billings Police located 76-year-old Donna Prescott in another state after she was abducted from her living facility on the 3100 block of Avenue C on June 1 around 4:00 p.m. (Officials confirmed she is safe while investigators continue to pursue leads and potential criminal charges for her non-custodial abduction.) - ➤ Billings police are seeking help for a missing 14-year-old boy, Zackariah Bever, who was last seen on June 2 near the 300 block of Monroe Street and is believed to be near the Rims, and he is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall with blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a blue hoodie with a white square, pants, a red hat with a leaf and red, black and white Nike shoes—neighbors are asked to call 406-657-8200 with any information. - ➤ A Billings man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to four felony charges—two for putting people in danger, one for starting a fire, and one for hurting an animal—in connection with a South Side apartment fire that sent several people to the hospital and killed a cat, and he is set to return to court on July 25 while he remains in jail with bail set at $150,585. - ➤ On Tuesday night, Billings City Council reviewed a proposed fire department budget that would increase funding by nearly $1 million to over $29 million for the next fiscal year starting July 1 after addressing police budget issues. Interim Fire Chief Matt Hoppel said 82% of the operating budget goes to personnel and noted that some positions will remain unfilled as the department plans station repairs and maintenance (efforts to update local infrastructure persist amid a budget shortfall).
