- ➤ Community members gathered today in Billings to honor the 1825 Crow Tribe treaty (signed August 4, 1825) with a walk from New Day parking lot to 4 Dances Top of Rims and a prayer service followed by a historical presentation on the Crow flag. Leaders including the Mayor, the Assistant Secretary of the Interior and Montana's Director of Indian Affairs spoke at the event that featured four tipis erected for viewing (available to visit at night when lit). - ➤ On Monday, lawyer Shiloh Hernandez asked NorthWestern Energy chief Brian Bird hard questions at a PSC hearing about the company’s plan to invest in coal-fired plants and the risk of future wildfire costs — the utility defends its net-zero goal and rate hikes to cover these investments. - ➤ On Friday, Rapid City Police arrested LaRay Donley from South Dakota on an out-of-state warrant for allegedly removing her 76-year-old mother from Aspen Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center in Billings — she now awaits extradition to Yellowstone County to face felony custodial interference charges. - ➤ Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are seeking information on a man who broke into a self-pay station at Voyager’s Rest Fishing Access Site on May 30—he first attempted the break-in on May 29 and is seen on camera driving a dark-colored Ford F-150, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Billings game warden at 406-409-1987. - ➤ The Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council is working with the Crow Tribe to set up a white teepee display at Four Dances Recreation Area that honors leader Four Dances and showcases new programs for health and youth leadership. The teepees light up at night through Friday and can be seen from the Four Dances trail—highlighting the tribe’s efforts to preserve its traditions. KTVQ
