  • Today, ZooMontana hosts its 10th annual Kids Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with $5 admission and family activities while the Downtown Mini Golf Tournament runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. offering 18 holes; entry costs are $7 for individuals+ $42 per team. Magic City Plant-a-Palooza runs from today until Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Brass Velvet Trading Company with free admission and plant vendors+ workshops.  KTVQ

CRIME NEWS

  • Billings Police Department said 13-year-old Kaleb Vogel and 11-year-old David Brown, who left on foot from the New Day facility in the 1700 block of Lampman Drive at 8:00 a.m., have been found safe by 2:21 p.m.+ authorities had earlier requested anyone with information to call the non-emergency line.  KULR8

EDUCATION NEWS

  • St. Vincent’s West-End Clinic recently hosted an event for Billings Career Center students to explore robotic surgery technology—General Surgeon Dr. Barry McKenzie explained that the equipment makes surgery less invasive and speeds recovery—and students practiced operating the robotic tools to gain hands-on experience for a future in medicine.  KULR8

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is seeking public comment on a reissuance of a hazardous waste permit for the petroleum refinery near Laurel—residents are invited to offer input during the review process.  Billings Gazette
  • A rebuilt bridge reopened on Thursday at Woodbine Trailhead to let hikers safely cross Woodbine Creek—this metal structure replaced the old wooden bridge that was lost in a 1,000-year flood three years ago in the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Contractors installed the prebuilt bridge quickly, ensuring it sits higher above the creek to better handle future floods.  KTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Montana Legislature overrode Gov. Gianforte’s veto on HB 368, a bill that shifts $2 million a year in coal severance tax revenue into a new state account to help pay for Colstrip’s water system when the power plants close. Rep. Gary Parry said he will work with the governor next session to clarify that the funds are used only for water.  KTVQ
  • Billings residents are invited to share feedback on 21st Street underpass improvements — the structure has low clearance and narrow lanes affecting safe passage — and the survey is online until June 30. Officials plan to use federal funds for improvements that may begin in 2028.  KULR8
  • Billings City Council will hold a special meeting on June 16 at 4:00 p.m. — the council will decide if a Municipal Primary Election is needed.  City of Billings

HEALTH NEWS

  • Bob Tambo, the graphic designer who created the Heart and Sole Run logo for 14 years, is joining the 2-mile walk today to celebrate his near-full recovery after suffering an ischemic stroke in February — his emergency treatment and focused physical therapy helped him regain hand mobility. He has returned to work at Rebel River Creative, and his participation supports local health causes including donations to the YMCA and TrailBNet.  Billings Gazette

  • Billings Realtors reported 688 single-family homes for sale with active listings up 10.8% and a median May price of $370,000—down 5.9% from last year. Local broker Jason Leininger said spring is the best time to list as sellers still receive about 98.4% of their asking price.  KTVQ
