  • Billings Fire Department engines responded to a home near Pioneer Park that caught fire and rescued a victim; officials are reviewing the incident (further updates pending).  Billings Gazette
  • Pryor Creek Gold Club was closed Tuesday due to severe storm damage from Monday evening — crews worked to clean up heavy damage to the driving range and club officials called for volunteers while the Senior League continued on the Johnny Walker course today.  KTVQ

  • At Home announced on Monday that its Billings store at 905 S. 24th St. will close by the end of September as part of its Chapter 11 restructuring aimed at cutting $2 billion in debt and securing $200 million in capital. The retailer, which has over 200 locations nationwide, has faced rising tariffs and slowing consumer demand.  KTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yellowstone County officials reminded Billings residents today to use the Everbridge app for emergency alerts after tornado sirens were deactivated in 2019 — county leaders stressed that many locals are still unaware of the new system amid ongoing severe weather.  KTVQ
  • Governor Gianforte signed a law in May that now bans vaping indoors by expanding the Clean Indoor Air Act to include e-cigarettes. The rule took effect immediately and gives businesses a warning letter before penalties & aims to help address youth vaping.  KTVQ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Intermountain Health broke ground Tuesday afternoon on a nearly $1 billion, 14-story hospital replacing its current facility in Billings that will open in 2029. Hospital leaders said the project—designed with nurse input and modern technology—and its strong Catholic roots will modernize patient care.  KTVQ
