ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 53-year-old Billings man died following a rollover crash on June 21 at Highway 312 and South 18th Road near Ballantine—his Chevrolet Silverado went off the road, struck a culvert, and rolled multiple times—while authorities said alcohol and drugs may have contributed to the accident.  KTVQ

CRIME NEWS

  • 18-year-old Bryce Blackburn was charged with deliberate homicide in Yellowstone County District Court after witnesses said he repeatedly punched 55-year-old Denis Osborne during a June 6 baseball game at Clevenger Park, resulting in Osborne’s death from blunt force trauma while his brother (under 18) also kicked him.  KTVQ
  • A Billings mother pleaded not guilty Thursday to six felony charges tied to alleged abuse of her children—including her 4-year-old son killed in 2021—and bail is set at $100,000 with GPS monitoring and a no-contact order as she awaits her next court date on September 2.  KTVQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Billings middle school students attended Camp BLUE at Lewis and Clark Middle School where police officers taught hands-on skills from applying tourniquets to operating drones as part of a week-long leadership camp. Today, the camp ended with a graduation ceremony and organizers plan to expand the program next summer — fostering community service and leadership among local youth.  KTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Billings will invest $500,000 in West End Fire Station 5 to update its 6016 square foot layout—half of the funds come from a Lowe’s Hometowns grant, and the improvements will replace the shared sleeping area and deteriorating shower.  Billings Gazette
  • Former U.S. Rep. Pat Williams—Montana’s longest-serving congressman known for fighting for working families and protecting wild lands—died at 87 as his family announced on Wednesday. His body will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda and a memorial service is planned in Missoula in July.  KULR8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kenneth 'Griz' Taylor, a longtime Harley-Davidson mechanic and Billings motorcyclist, survived a severe heart attack in April that left him unconscious for six days at Billings Clinic. Now two months post-surgery he is back on the road and credits his motorcycle club and hospital treatment—especially the ECMO machine—for his recovery.  KTVQ
