  • After a hailstorm left one window leaking in Shepherd earlier this month, 72-year-old Connie Halvorsen said a Billings-based window company repeatedly visited her door with a high-priced estimate and pressured her for a large down payment. She urged neighbors to check for proper ID and not to rush into payments—especially vulnerable homeowners who might face similar aggressive tactics.  KTVQ
  • Family Service and Town and Country are launching the Summer Strong Bags program in Billings to support families with kid-friendly and shelf-stable foods throughout July. Donors can purchase a bag at Town and Country that contains items such as beef stew, peanut butter, and jelly crackers—these bags are then sent to Family Service for distribution.  KULR8

CULTURE NEWS

  • After an eight-year break, the Red Lodge Festival of Nations returns for its 75th anniversary, supported by the Carbon County Historical Museum & community fundraising. The festival will honor over 30 cultures and expect more than 1,000 people with a schedule that includes a farmers market, indigenous cooking classes and street dance performances.  KULR8

  • Lowe's Hometown Projects has awarded a $280,000 grant to remodel Fire Station 5 so that its outdated plumbing and public bathroom will be updated into three private bathrooms—Billings firefighters will begin the remodeling in August to improve their work space.  KTVQ
