- ➤ United Way of Yellowstone County is running a school supply campaign to help Billings families pay for back-to-school items; donation sites are available at its headquarters on Overland and Mattress King stores through Aug. 13. - ➤ On Monday night, Billings City Council approved over $1.3 million in TIF funds for two downtown projects aimed at boosting housing and pedestrian safety. The larger project will renovate the long-vacant Masonic Temple (with a planned $7.9 million investment for retail, office, and 10 residential units) while the smaller project will add four new flashing crossing beacons on Montana Avenue (with $20,000 allocated) to improve pedestrian safety.
