ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Billings police urged drivers to avoid the intersection of Skyway Drive and Alkali Creek Road after a fatal crash was reported Wednesday night around 10:15 p.m.—by 10:35 p.m. the roadway was blocked as officers also investigated a possible homicide at a Billings Clinic parking lot downtown.  KTVQ

  • Kennedy Rose Aigner was sentenced to 55 years in prison for fatally shooting Quaid Fluckiger at their Shepherd home — the killing left his family grieving and his young daughter without a parent.  Billings Gazette
  • At an arraignment hearing, murder suspect Anthony Ray Sullivan pleaded not guilty to killing his girlfriend on July 4 at Copper Ridge & community members rallied in support of the victim’s daughter.  Billings Gazette

  • The Oak Ridge Boys will perform at Alberta Bair Theater on Friday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. as part of their farewell tour American Made - the legendary group will honor its legacy with a new lineup following the loss of longtime member Joe Bonsall last year.  KTVQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Billings Public Schools Board is considering a proposal from Superintendent Dr. Erwin Garcia to create an armed marshal role aimed at boosting safety during large school events. Garcia said the candidate must be an active or retired peace officer with strict training and fingerprint checks—which has raised community concerns about a potential slippery slope.  KULR8

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Billings will begin two-way street construction in downtown Billings next week as part of its restoration project — crews will start Monday by applying interim pavement markings and activating new traffic signals and signage, with permanent markings coming mid to late August.  KULR8
