COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Billings bar owner Rachel Dehler is starting a fund to help the families of Anaconda shooting victims and is urging bars across the nation to donate part or all of their sales on August 16—her bar’s proceeds will go to the Owl Bar operator, who will support the victims’ families. • Whitney Scott took the initiative to bring back the Big Brothers Big Sisters program after its December closure due to funding issues—she has mentored youth like eight-year-old Araya "Ray" Passons for years. The Big Sky Country division now runs community-based pairs in Billings and nearby areas and is calling on local support to help fund the program.  KTVQ
  • Hundreds of students received new backpacks & school supplies Saturday morning as ten Verizon-Cellular Plus stores in the greater-Billings area hosted their annual back-to-school giveaway. The supplies, including pencils, crayons and notebooks, were provided by Verizon-Cellular Plus and community donations.  KTVQ
