Some members said their alert increased after a 16-year-old was arrested for a suspected planned shooting at a church and school—authorities see the workshop as a key step to boost community safety.
High Tide, a Billings bar and casino, is launching a fundraiser to support victims and families from the Anaconda Owl Bar shooting as the search for the suspect continues.
Owner Rachel Dehler will call on bars across the country to donate a portion of their proceeds on August 16—local businesses have already joined the effort.

Lockwood lost beloved music and choir teacher Quentin "Q" Staton after he died following nearly 3 years fighting head, neck and throat cancer — he taught for 16 years and is remembered for his kindness and commitment to students and staff.

Billings property owners are planning legal action over high water bills that began after a 2024 billing software change, even though an independent audit found no errors.
They have joined forces by gathering resident data and contacting an attorney—urging the city to address the billing issues through discussion rather than legal action.
State officials signed an order using emergency response funds for law enforcement and Montana Attorney General raised the reward to $10,000 for information on Michael Paul Brown—the suspect in the Anaconda bar shooting that killed four people.
The DEQ reported that Northwestern's Laurel plant is in compliance after its final supplemental environmental assessment and hundreds of educators met at Ben Steele Middle School as part of the Jeremy Bullock Safe Schools Summit to discuss school safety improvements.
