- ➤ Former student Chelsea Hein is saving bricks from Fred Graff Elementary School in Laurel to build a memorial before the school is torn down. She has collected 600 bricks so far & is raising $50,000 with donors receiving a brick with their name on it. KTVQ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Billings schools faced 25 cases of vandalism last year with damage from broken windows, fires and stolen maintenance gear; in June, vandals set fire to playground equipment at Poly Drive Elementary costing about $5,000 (officials say better cameras may help catch offenders) and a lawn-mowing tractor was stolen from Castle Rock Middle School. - ➤ At MontanaFair’s 110th anniversary, Robert Duck brought his Great American Duck Races to Billings using 42 mallard ducks in races with heats chosen from the audience—exciting many local families. Duck, who has led duck races for 27 years in 38 states, said he plans to continue the tradition in Billings. KTVQ
