- ➤ On Saturday, bar owners raised money to help families hurt by the Owl Bar shooting in Anaconda on Aug. 1 and Rachel Dehler of High Tide Bar + Casino led a fundraiser that already raised over $1,000 and is expected to gather more funds as customers paid for drinks. KTVQ
- ➤ Harvest Church in the Heights hosted its annual free back-to-school fair on Saturday where hundreds of families lined up early to receive nearly 700 backpacks—along with free clothing, shoes, haircuts, eye exams, vaccinations, and pediatric screenings provided by local businesses and a Walmart grant. - ➤ Drange Apiary began its honey extraction season in late July and workers used a conveyor-belt system and centrifugal extractor to fill 250 55-pound barrels so far. The commercial beekeeping business employs 11 workers to manage 6,000 hives in Laurel during a three-month period for honey and beeswax production. KTVQ

- ➤ Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks game wardens are seeking public help after a vandal shattered the base of a toilet at Lake Elmo State Park’s women’s restroom and destroyed 17 sprinkler heads near the pavilion and office; a suspect reportedly used a rock and threw wet balls of toilet paper (with a $1,000 reward offered for tips). - ➤ Starting Friday, Montana homeowners can apply for a tax rebate on their 2024 property taxes—legislators approved this new measure during the 2025 session.
