- ➤ Yesterday, the U.S. Small Business Administration met with over a dozen Billings business owners at the Big Sky Economic Development office to discuss high transportation and supply costs. SBA Regional Administrator Justin Everett said the agency plans to connect companies with onshore resource suppliers through its onshoring portal — a move that may help ease cost pressures. KTVQ
- ➤ The Pop Stop on Grand Avenue near Billings Senior High has seen a 60% drop in sales since July because road construction blocks access—city engineers say work in front of the school will finish in the next couple of days so the lunch and after-school rush can return when classes start on Tuesday, Sept 2. The owner reported that even the construction workers have helped by moving trucks when needed. KTVQ

- ➤ Tracy Routh Lautenslager, 53, pled guilty to conspiracy to smuggle her foreign husband across the US-Canada border on April 1, 2025—authorities found text messages that revealed their plan to bypass legal immigration processes. KULR8
- ➤ Samantha Marie Finch pleaded not guilty on August 26th in Yellowstone County District Court to charges of elder exploitation, abuse and forgery for allegedly withdrawing funds from her 80-year-old grandfather before his murder — her case follows her ex-boyfriend Dean Webb Frost’s not guilty plea to killing him last November — as investigators probe the financial misconduct.
