- ➤ Rimrock Mall’s owner, Kohan Retail Investment Group, missed Friday’s deadline to pay nearly $600K in overdue property taxes, leaving the tax lien available for investors — none have stepped up so far. Yellowstone County Treasurer Hank Peters said any buyer would start collecting interest, and he warned the county might auction the property if the debt remains unpaid by early 2028. KTVQ

- ➤ A Billings mother spoke out after Billings School District 2 announced cuts to mental health services at select schools, saying her 10-year-old son who relies on the Comprehensive School and Community Treatment program will lose key therapy support. - ➤ Dozens of Yellowstone County residents protested Friday outside the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings to oppose a $170K funding cut that will reduce support for art education and community services. County officials will hold a budget hearing on Sept. 2 at 9 a.m.—giving residents a chance to present their concerns before finalizing the budget. KTVQ
- ➤ Three students were injured in a school bus accident when a tire blew out and the bus careened 40 feet off the road near Shiloh and Neibauer roads in Billings. A state legislator said a proposed mental health hospital on Skyway Drive is needed—despite a pause by the governor—while Rimrock Mall faces over $500,000 in unpaid property taxes that could lead to a sale if not paid soon.
