  • A Billings school bus driver was cited for careless driving when a bus struck a guardrail and went 40 feet down an embankment near Shiloh Road and Neibauer Road on Aug. 28—injuring three students and sending one to the hospital—and the driver, who tested negative for drugs and alcohol, remains on leave.  KTVQ

CRIME NEWS

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Montana's labor market (as reported by the 2025 Labor Day Report) has added 60,000 jobs in five years with a 2.3% rise in real wages, though nearly two job openings exist for every unemployed worker. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Montana Audubon Center is launching Adventures at Night—a new program that lets families explore nature with a Moonlight Paddle at Deep Mill Pond. The event, led by center staff to spot wildlife like owls and muskrats, requires advanced registration with free entry for members and a fee of 15 dollars for non-members.  KULR8

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Gianforte and the Department of Health and Human Services introduced a plan that would require able-bodied, working-age Medicaid enrollees to pay income-based premiums and join work or training programs to help keep the program safe—Montana has submitted the HELP waiver and will make changes if federal approval comes.  KULR8
  • A Montana District Court Judge issued a temporary restraining order today—blocking Governor Gianforte from suspending Public Service Commission President Brad Molnar amid a dispute over a letter calling for his leave during an ongoing investigation into workplace misconduct.
