CULTURE NEWS

  • The Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings cut four jobs after the county reduced its funding in September—staff roles in membership, rentals, communications, and the curatorial department were affected. The museum will not offer public rentals and will share remaining duties among staff to adjust its programs amid short staffing.  KTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Billings Logan International Airport operates normally amid the week-long government shutdown, according to official Paul Khera. He said TSA agents will get their next paycheck Monday and warned that changes may occur if the shutdown continues — but for now, travelers face no delays or cancellations.  KTVQ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Billings Clinic honored Bob and Penni Nance—whose generosity transformed local healthcare—by dedicating the Nance Tower on Wednesday afternoon as a lasting tribute to their impact in the region.  KTVQ
  • Erika and Zack Fievet from Billings used music therapy to cope with Zack’s serious injuries and the loss of their infant last year. They are now sharing their story to show how music can help heal both body and mind — a message that reaches others facing hardship.  KTVQ
  • A plan for a 32-bed mental health facility in Billings stalled because of local leadership, zoning, and land cost issues, and state agencies are now asking Eastern Montana communities to propose new sites—submissions are open until November 10. The process will include public review until November 21 with the final proposal due on November 26.  KULR8
  • Billings woman Tana Re has transformed a former Franz Bakery truck—bought for $1 from Michael Stoller—into a mobile bra fitting service to help cancer survivors feel comfortable. She started the service three years ago after being inspired by helping her mother.  KTVQ
