  • Nine-month-old Olive Joy Smith from Billings is a quarter finalist in the Baby of the Year contest, which raises funds for Baby2Baby—a nonprofit that gives families diapers and basic baby items. Her mother said the contest has been a roller coaster while local groups note that more Billings families are needing diaper help as prices rise.  KTVQ
  • Crews assessed the total loss of the Feedlot Steakhouse in Shepherd after a Monday evening fire caused major damage—firefighters from Shepherd, Worden, and Lockwood responded as officials began investigating the cause. In Billings, local food banks experienced longer lines and high food donations amid SNAP delays from a 35-day shutdown—treatment centers are working to help those affected by Montana’s high risk of addiction.  KTVQ
  • The City of Billings Public Works will host a celebration on November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the dead end of 21st St W in Rose Park to mark the opening of a 1,423-foot trail linking 19th to 21st St W (funded by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and matched by Billings TrailNet) that will feature a speed walking race and warm, festive beverages (attendees should bring walking shoes, bikes, or strollers).  KULR8

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Neighbors were saddened when a fire destroyed Feedlot Steakhouse in Shepherd Monday night while it was closed for renovations — response vehicles and drones were on scene investigating the cause and no injuries were reported.  KTVQ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Montana's largest crane arrived in Billings after 27 semi trucks hauled its pieces from Minnesota and Washington—its assembly took eight days. The massive machine will work at the current St. Vincent Regional Hospital campus near North 27th Street as the new $1 billion hospital project builds over the next year and a half.  KTVQ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • ZooMontana welcomes Poblano, a 3-year-old black-footed ferret from Colorado who will now spend his retirement at the zoo. The facility thanked Cushing Terrell for sponsoring his home — a move that lets local visitors learn about his conservation story.  KULR8

HEALTH NEWS

  • RiverStone Health donated an AED to Lockwood Little League to give players, families and fans quick access to lifesaving help at the ballpark. The donation boosts safety and lets team organizers respond fast in emergencies.  Billings Gazette

  • Billings natives Eliza Bentler and Ashlyn Dvorak grew up playing soccer together and now shine as key teammates with the Montana Grizzlies while finishing their final season.
