- ➤ Gas prices in Montana dropped by 0.6¢ per gallon to $2.99 on November 10th — a price that is 7.2¢ lower than a month ago and 5.3¢ less than a year ago. KTVQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A Billings West High School senior who enlisted in the U.S. Army told Will James Middle School students ahead of Veterans Day why he chose military service. He said the Army taught him discipline — and that his family supported his decision. KTVQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The government shutdown has hurt tourism and travel in Billings, leaving restaurants and hotels less busy. Leaders broke ground on the Eagle Seeker Clinic to support urban Native American healthcare and Seahawks fans hosted a fundraising watch party at The Red Door—actions that aim to help the community. KTVQ
- ➤ The proposal to build a state forensic mental health facility in Billings has drawn both support and opposition from local officials, and only Miles City and Hardin filed the required paperwork. The state will decide on Nov. 26 (Billings may still be reconsidered if the preferred sites do not work out) with leaders noting the city has key resources (including an airport and hospitals) to support the project. - ➤ Dr. Mackay Hull, a retired oral surgeon, now volunteers every week at RiverStone Health to perform extractions and minor procedures for patients who cannot pay for care—he has also donated $50,000 and planned a $500,000 endowment to help fund the hospice program, with a Tree of Lights ceremony to honor his wife and his service scheduled this Thursday at 5 p.m. KTVQ
