Billings nonprofit Adult and Teen Challenge received 800 Christmas trees delivered Monday to begin its fifth annual sale at Faith Chapel on Shiloh Road and the lot at 24th Street West and Lewis Avenue.

The trees will go on sale Nov. 22—helping raise funds for addiction recovery and giving program participants work experience.

After weeks of nonprofit mismanagement, three Billings groups (the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation, and United Way) are launching new training and oversight programs.

They will offer board and financial management workshops (such as classes from the chamber) to help restore public trust in local nonprofits.

Billings Community Foundation will host its Holiday Open House on December 11 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at its office at 404 N 30th St.—council, donors, board members and community partners are invited to join for holiday drinks and light bites.

Billings author Dennis Gaub wrote the first detailed biography of World Series hero Dave McNally—an icon in baseball labor rights.

The book shows how McNally’s career shaped the game and brought new attention to Billings.

A federal funding bill passed and left Montana’s hemp industry in limbo by banning most hemp products with THC levels over 0.4 mg per container—while including a one‑year moratorium for lawmakers to set new rules.

Local industry leaders and farmers say they worry the change could hurt crop income if clear guidelines are not reached soon.
