- ➤ Three major Billings groups — the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation, and United Way of Yellowstone — announced plans to expand training and board support to restore trust in local nonprofits after recent scandals led to criminal charges and investigations, and they will work to strengthen oversight going forward. - ➤ The Family Tree event will return in a few weeks at the Family Tree Nurturing Center to raise funds for preventing child abuse and neglect—local businesses, nonprofits, and schools are joining forces to collect children's books for donation at storage locker locations or Billings West High School. Organizers expect this 40th celebration to build on past successes and gather even more books for the cause. KULR8
- ➤ ZooMontana in Billings announced it has added its first bobcats—a 6-month-old and a 3-month-old rescued from northwestern Montana that will start ambassadorship training as a naming contest is planned. The zoo also launched a food drive that ends next Tuesday, with the top donor earning a flag placement and all items donated to Family Service in Billings. KTVQ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Since the Billings Bypass opened in July, the intersection of Mary Street and Bitterroot Drive has seen a surge in traffic and several crashes—including a serious accident on Oct. 25 that knocked homes off power—with residents urging for safety upgrades as the Montana Highway Patrol confirmed an injury-causing crash and the Northeast Billings Bypass will add a traffic signal to ease the flow. - ➤ Wingstop opened its first Montana restaurant in Billings—fans from across the region visited the new location. The chain will open more sites in Bozeman, Missoula, Great Falls and Helena by next year and is scouting for a second Billings location. Billings Gazette
- ➤ Montana’s first Cupbop will open in Billings — in a parking lot in front of the old HomeGoods building on King Avenue West serving Korean BBQ bowls. Construction starts this week and the new eatery is planned to open in January 2026. KTVQ
