- ➤ Billings Livestock Commission cancelled its November horse auction due to equine herpesvirus spreading from a Texas rodeo—officials said the move will minimize further exposure and protect horses. - ➤ The Montana Office of Public Instruction announced it has secured free access to the Level All educational platform for local schools, educators — families, which helps students explore careers, research college options and learn financial skills. Superintendent Susie Hedalen said the tool will prepare every student for college, a career and life after graduation. KULR8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 10, Billings Animal Control burned methamphetamines in a city-owned incinerator, which sent toxic smoke into an animal shelter and resulted in several hospitalizations. The Montana DEQ issued a letter outlining the violations+ city officials say they await more details while using a Certificate of Fitness to reopen the facility. KTVQ
- ➤ Kelsie Rubich has been named the new Director of the Billings Public Library. She brings over ten years of local library experience and more than twenty years in public service—she will guide new projects and enhance service for patrons. KULR8
- ➤ Gov. Gianforte signed a memo with a large Japanese company to study energy infrastructure projects — the company will explore data center development ideas in Montana. Billings Gazette

- ➤ Billings health officials are hosting the Healthy by Design forum today—organized by RiverStone Health, Billings Clinic, and Intermountain Health—which shares key survey results and asks for public input on local health needs. KULR8
