Billings-based nonprofit Warrior Wishes gathered over 50 volunteers Saturday morning to prepare 900 Thanksgiving meal boxes for veterans that will be distributed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at six local pickup spots — including a new location at 105 Brewing.

A prescribed fire near the Chief Buffalo Horn Trail in Laurel produced smoke visible for miles — a hotel video showed the large smoke cloud above the area.

Local officials confirmed that a burn permit was in place — the fire took place around 3:30 p.m. and is being closely monitored to remain controlled.

Billings teen Mychal Eaglefeathers Jr. competed at Saturday's ACL Montana Tournament and aimed to become the youngest Native professional cornhole player while winning four consecutive Big Sky State Games.
