  • The Billings community rallied to restore historic Wayman Chapel AME Church after three stained-glass windows were vandalized last month—local stained-glass artist Susan Kennedy Sommerfeld volunteered to repair the damage free of charge.  KTVQ

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Friends of Billings Public Library will host a festive pop-up book sale at the Book Nook on December 6 from 9:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m., offering unique holiday gifts—each purchase helps support library programs.  KULR8
  • Zoo Montana in Billings (a local favorite) reported that red panda sisters Petunia and Pandora experienced their first snowfall, delighting visitors with their playful antics. The animals are built for cold weather (their natural habitats reach up to 13,000 feet), which shows they thrive in snowy conditions.  KULR8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Billings Mayor Bill Cole and State Sen. Mike Yakawich discussed the planned forensic mental health facility coming to Laurel, which received $26.2 million from the legislature and will open in two to three years. Cole expressed concerns about workforce competition and post-treatment care (noting limited local resources), while Yakawich remains hopeful that the project will attract additional healthcare professionals.  KTVQ
