- ➤ Billings nonprofit Dog Tag Buddies warns its primary federal grant for free veteran service dog training may vanish by year's end, which could force staff cuts and longer wait times. The group is urging Congress to restore the funds to continue helping local veterans. KTVQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ New MAST test results show that only 43% of students met English language arts goals and 37% met math standards, leaving many needing extra help. Teachers say the short tests (about 19 per year) give quick feedback to guide instruction in local schools. KTVQ

- ➤ The City of Billings invites residents to tour the new City Hall (located at 316 N. 26th St.) on Dec. 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Departments like Finance, Municipal Court, and Police will welcome guests with light snacks. KULR8
- ➤ The BLM has reduced permit costs to $1 for Christmas trees & firewood until Jan. 31 to support forest thinning and help families save money on winter resources in Montana; residents can purchase permits in person at field offices in Butte, Dillon, Lewistown, Malta, Miles City, and Missoula.
