- ➤ Montana Women’s Run donated $100,000 to local women’s and children’s groups in Billings today — the funds supported the YWCA, Billings Clinic Foundation, Rocky Mountain College, MSUB, the YMCA and Montana Amateur Sports. Billings Gazette
- ➤ Billings nonprofit Sew Kindness donated nearly 150 pillowcases to Yellowstone River Nursing Home on Tuesday, offering comfort to residents in need. Director Kari Jones said her organization has distributed nearly 1,200 pillowcases over two years to foster kids, at-risk youths and nursing home residents. KTVQ
- ➤ Billings Leadership Foundation has named Dyann Romeijn as the new executive director to oversee Montana Rescue Mission, Friendship House, and the Bargain Center. She will begin her role on Dec. 22 — marking a fresh start after the termination of previous director Matt Lundgren. KTVQ

- ➤ NorthWestern Energy has asked regulators to approve raising its stake in the Colstrip power plant to 55% by acquiring Avista and Puget Sound Energy shares starting Jan. 1; it will serve local customers with Avista’s share while selling PSE’s share wholesale. Some regulators and environmental groups have raised cost concerns. KTVQ

- ➤ Billings Public Schools is exploring the purchase of the former Rocky Mountain Bank building at 2929 Third Ave. N. to expand its healthcare education programs and address a growing need for local healthcare workers. The district expects lease revenue — including from the FBI — to cover costs without impacting taxpayers. KTVQ

- ➤ Billings Police Department and Downtown Billings now offer a holiday mail protection service at their office (102 N 29th Street) to help residents avoid porch thefts; packages can be dropped off and picked up through December 31 during specified hours.
