- ➤ On Monday, wind gusts toppled trees and left 1,000 residents without power as crews worked to clear roads and secure lines — Laurel City Council discussed state plans for a $26.5 million mental health facility and Billings Public Schools will buy the former bank to expand healthcare programs. - ➤ Billings residents can help four in-need families through KTVQ’s Adopt a Family holiday program by donating items, including winter coats (and big-ticket gifts) at downtown KTVQ or Kirkness Roofing on Moore Lane until Friday, Dec. 12, with families set to pick up their presents the week before Christmas. - ➤ An anonymous worker reported that mail at the Billings post office at 841 S. 26th St was exposed to harsh weather in an uncovered lot and with poor conditions, and management began moving mail onto carts Saturday — promising continued efforts to improve safety. KTVQ
- ➤ Congressman Troy Downing supported the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act today; his vote extends the program through Fiscal Year 2026 and provides lapsed payments for 2024 and 2025 to help local counties fund their schools.
