ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Wind brought down 17 power line poles on Wold Road in Laurel and tipped a truck on Gabel Road in Billings Wednesday afternoon as crews worked overnight and planned to reopen the road later today.  KTVQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Billings Public Schools is considering a high school bond to fund overdue maintenance and safety upgrades - voters have rejected similar measures in the past.  Billings Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Billings residents will face water shutoffs beginning Jan. 12 as city officials move to disconnect the 300 largest delinquent accounts from a $3.5 million debt + roughly 70 residents are pursuing legal action over the ongoing dispute.  KTVQ

HEALTH NEWS

  • More than 77,000 Montanans enrolled on HealthCare.gov in 2025, with nearly 69,000 receiving cost assistance, and many will see higher premiums if enhanced ACA tax credits expire Jan. 1 — lawmakers are still debating proposals to ease the increases.  KTVQ

SPORTS NEWS

  • Baker girls basketball team led by senior Madison O’Connor and junior Avery O’Connor is eyeing a third straight state championship game after winning in 2024 and finishing runner-up in 2025. The team is focusing on fast transitions & strong teamwork as they prepare for the upcoming contest.  KTVQ
  • The storied rivalry between Montana and Montana State will take center stage Saturday at Bobcat Stadium — as the playoff semifinal sets up a fight for an FCS national championship berth. Both teams are coming off strong season records and look to capitalize on home-field advantage.  KTVQ
