ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Billings can drop off their decorated-free Christmas trees at designated sites including Poly Vista Park and Zoo Montana (with other locations in Laurel, Lockwood, Shepherd, and Huntley) from Dec. 27 to Jan. 19. The City Public Works Department runs the annual recycling program with local partner Bright n' Beautiful. KULR8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana will implement property tax relief, a minimum wage raise to $10.85, and revised SNAP rules starting in 2026. Homeowners can apply for the new tax exemption (applications due by March 1) as federal law expands SNAP work requirements to help adjust for rising costs. KULR8

- ➤ Mountain West Food Group recalled 2,855 pounds of raw ground beef after USDA testing detected potential E. coli O26 in FORWARD FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF produced Dec. 16; the product was distributed to retailers in Montana and several other states, and consumers are advised to discard or return it.
